I have been wanting to write this post since a while, once I came back from my trip in Las Vegas, NV in West USA.
Yes, Las Vegas is more than just a city with hotels, casinos and swimming pools. This growing city is also home to some of the most luxurious residential mansions and at a surprise to me, it is also birthplace to distinct architectural style, known as Desert Living or Desert Modern or even Vegas Modern.
While visiting Nevada, I was experiencing the West of the US. This part of the States has a very different feel to it than say the East side. And this is also seen in the architecture of the buildings. Utah, Arizona and Nevada offer spectacular desert landscapes and architects create stunning buildings in those landscapes.
But enough writing about it in words. See for yourself the photos I took while visiting a show home of one of the companies that is defining this new desert-modern style of architecture. The company is called Blueheron. You might see me in some of those pictures, acting as the human model so that you can grasp better the size of the spaces. I put only a few of the photos as there were so many details in that house: linear fireplaces, TV monuments in the back yards, outdoor showers, no edge mirror swimming pools etc.
